I think about everday being able to become a Turkish citizen and living in lzmir. When ever I look up real estate there though everything is in UK POUNDS! Why?! It seems like it would be a total hassle to buy a house there if I have to pay in pounds. I though their currency was the turkish lima so what gives? Any one familiar with the methods of doing this. I will always love my United States and will always be a US citizen however. But that is the beauty of Turkey and the US. I can be a Turkish American. Im so proud of both of these countires! Anyways if you have any info about my question please answer. Long live the USA and long live Turkey!

The unit to purchase real estate is just a formality, you would wire funds to whatever entity is handling the transaction, the currency would be converted to that countries system and you buy the property. Although I have never done it, my understanding is that buying property in Turkey by non-citizens is not complex.
