The country of Turkey is no longer named Turkey. It's Turkistan, or something like it. And, NO, there are people living there and no turkeys (except maybe the human kind, no insult meant, find them here in North America too!).

Turkey did not change its name. It is still the Republic of Turkey. The turkey bird is native to many places, including North America. Ben Franklin wanted it to be the national symbol for the USA, but the eagle was chosen instead.

No. People who live in Turkey are Turks/Turkish. You find turkeys in many parts of the world. You and your friends are living proof of that.
