A wild female Turkey has been frequenting my bird feeder for over two years now, recently I've been finding large clumps of feathers in my yard. We've learned to appreciate her intelligent nature & personality & have come to love her & her presence. On occasion she comes running and remains quite close when we are refilling the feeder and water. Sadly we've not seen any other Turkeys, although she seems to have made friends with some pheasants.

I don't know how long turkeys live, but she's probably losing those feathers because she's molting. In case you don't know, molting is the process of replacing old feathers with new ones. It's no big deal.
