How do I keep Turkey Vultures from living in my backyard

How do I keep Turkey Vultures from living in my backyard?
I have about 20 Turkey Vultures living in the trees behind my house. So far they have pecked holes in my pool cover, and the shingles on my roof. They also poop every where and spit up animal parts in my backyard. I tried making noise, air horn, my dog barking throwing sticks and stones and they keep returning. I also put out a fake owl and no luck[.

Owls are not a threat to vultures, as you can see. About the only bird that bothers them is Eagles and it might be hard to find a Eagler willing to put his Eagle up against a flock of vultures. Load noise and as much activity as possible is about the only solution I can think of. Don't let them roust there after dark and don't leave dead body's laying around your back yard ha ha This time of year they may be starting to nest and have found there NEW nesting site. It maybe possible that there old site has been destroyed for one reason or the other and your back yard looks much like there former nest site ? If they are destroying live stock ( not likely for a vulture ) or you can prove they are doing considerable property damage, then you can request a depredation permit for there removal from the Fish and Wildlife Services. Unlawful Killing of any protected species and ALL raptors are protected, can carry a fine of $100.00 to $5000.00 and 1 year imprisonment for each offense (each one you kill! ) note: Turkey vultures find food by small. They can small a dead carcass a mile away. Nature gas has a chemical additive for safety purposes that give off a smiler small to a dead animal. This small can be piked up by turkey vultures, such as a underground leak and they will sometimes hang around these areas. Colohen
