Yes, there are. Read this: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Afro-Turks Very prominent was the late singer Esmeray: http://tr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Esmeray (this page is in Turkish but there is a picture of her) also Tuğçe Güder http://www.hurriyet.com.tr/gundem/4086443.asp?m=1&gid=69 (this site is also in Turkish but once again you'll find a picture)

There used to be blacks living in Turkey originating from Ethiopia but most of them got married to the white folks, leaving a trace of darker skin colour behind. Especially in Aydin and İzmir area- The Aegean coast- there are still villages with black people whose ancestors came to Turkey during the Ottoman period as slaves and then set free, as residents. The offspring of these people are mixed with the locals in time. There is actually a few famous singers, dancers and a Beauty Queen among them. I believe that they were all Muslim. They are all Turkish for at least one hundred years. There are also a very small minority of children with interracial and international parents but if you compare it to the whole population, the ratio shall be very minor. There are some more real Black African people, mostly living in Istanbul, some have visas , some don't , from African countries. They are not Turkish. Not yet. Most come with the dream of going forward to Europe, but find friends, a job etc and settle.

Of course... My best friend is a mix of black and Turkish. Her dad is Sudan and her mom is from Istanbul.

Yes, there are. They have been brought from Africa centuries ago, as slaves for the Ottoman noblemen. But now, they are independent and living happily in our land. And they are Turkish.
